Günümüzde dünyada; kentleşme, endüstrileşme ve aşırı nüfus artışı ile yoğun çalışmanın beraberinde getirdiği olumsuzluklar sonucu rekreasyon bir gereksinim oluşturmaktadır. İnsanlar rekreasyon gereksinimlerini gidermek amacıyla, geçici de olsa yaşadıkları çevreden ayrılarak bir çeşit rekreasyonel faaliyet olan turizme yönelmektedir. Doğal, tarihi ve kültürel değerlere sahip Saroz Körfezi aynı zamanda potansiyel birer turizm ve rekreasyon kaynağıdır. Bu nedenle, Saroz Körfezi'nin doğal, tarihi ve kültürel potansiyeli ile ilgili turizm ve rekreasyon aktivitelerine kaynak teşkil edebilecek kullanımların ve bilinçli kullanımına yönelik stratejilerin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu araştırmada, Plankare yöntemine göre alan 1'er km2'lik karelere ayrılarak, Saroz Körfezi'nin turizm ve rekreasyonel kullanım potansiyelleri belirlenmiş, mevcut ve olası sorunların çözümüne yönelik öneriler getirilmiştir. In today's world, recreation is a necessity for humanity to relax and reduce the pressure of high population increase, urbanization, industrilization and intensive work conditions. People have touristic activities which is a type of recreation, around their leaving places to meet their recreation needs. Saroz Gulf which has natural, cultural and historical values, is a potential tourism and recreation sources. The objective of this study is to determine the strategies to be able to use Saroz Gulf as a resource in touristic and recreational activities together with its natural, historical and culturel potential. In this study, the area is divided into squares of 1 km2 according to the plansquare method and the potantial touristic and recreational usage of Saroz Gulf was determined. In addition, solutions were also produced for present and possible problems when its was used for touristic and recreational purpose.
