Ülkemizin en kapsamlı kırsal kalkınma projesi olan Köykent 2000-2003 yılları arasında Ordu İli Mesudiye İlçesinde uygulanmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Köykent Projesinin olumlu ve olumsuz yanları ile birlikte analizini yaparak, bundan sonra gerçekleştirilecek kırsal kalkınma projelerine ışık tutmaktır. Çalışmada elde edilen bulgular Mesudiye İlçesinde 2 yılı aşan bir sürede gerçekleştirilen gözlemlerin sonucudur. Bulgular göstermektedir ki, Köykent Projesi sağlam temeller üzerinde şekillenmiştir. Buna karşılık, projelendirme ve uygulama aşamasında gerçekleştirilen bazı hatalar da görülmektedir. Yapılması gereken, bundan sonra uygulanacak benzer projelerde Köykent Projesinin bize sunduğu olumlu ve olumsuz yanlardan ders almaktır. Koykent, which is the most comprehensive rural development project of our country, was implemented in Mesudiye district of Ordu Province in 2000-2003. The aim of this study is to offer a solution for rural development projects of the future by analysing Koykent Project with its negative and positive aspects. Findings of the study are the results of observations that took more than two years in Mesudiye. The findings show that Koykent Project was designed on a strong basis. On the contrary there were some mistakes related to planning and implementing stages. What we should do is to profit from both positive and negative aspects of the Koykent Project.
