Post-Geleneksellikten Post-Modernizme İki Papanın Hikayesi

İşte çok kısa bir şekilde özetlenebilecek yenilik, modernlik, gelenek, güncelleme ve çağa ayak uydurma gibi bilinen tartışmaların gölgesinde bu zıt gibi görünen iki tavrın aynı zaman diliminde iki ayrı otorite tarafından nasıl savunulacağı ve “uzlaşma” sağlanıp sağlanamayacağı sorusuna cevap arayan bir sinema yapımı gösterime girdi. Aralık ayının sonlarında Netflix platformu üzerinden vizyona giren The Two Popes/İki Papa (Fernando Meirelles, 2019) filmi de Katolik Kilisesi’nin asırlardır süren gelenek, reform veya günümüz dünyasına ayak uydurabilme tartışmalarının odağındaki iki papanın seçim-istifa-seçim yoluyla birbirlerinin yerine nasıl geçtiklerini anlatmaktadır.
