Nezara viridula (L.) hakkında bugüne kadar bir çok çalışma yapılmasına karşın çoğunda beslenme davranışlarına ya hiç değinilmemiş ya da yüzeysel olarak ele alınmıştır. Bu çalışmada ise N. viridula'nın tüm nimf dönemleri, ergin erkek, preovipozisyon, ovipozisyon ve postovipozisyon dönemlerindeki dişi bireylerinin taze fasulye (Phaseolus vulgaris (L.)) meyvesi, yerfıstığı (Arachis hypogaea (L.)) ve domates (Lycopersicon esculentum Miller) tohumlarındaki beslenme davranışları incelenmiştir. Bu incelemede bireylerin deneme kafesleri içindeki boşta kalma, besin üzerinde kalma, toplam beslenme, saf suyu gözlem kafesine ileten filtre kağıdı üzerinde kalma ve su alma süreleri dikkate alınarak birer saatlik gözlemler yapılmıştır. Toplam beslenme süreleri başlangıç fazı, sondalama fazı ve aktif beslenme fazı olarak 3 ayrı dönemde incelenmiştir. Bütün dönemler için beslenme süreleri ve dişi bireyler hariç besin üzerinde kalma süreleri en uzun taze fasulye meyvesinde görülmüştür. En uzun süre beslenen bireyler ise, taze fasulye meyvesinde 5. dönem nimfler, yerfıstığı tohumunda ovipozisyon dönemindeki dişiler ve domates tohumunda preovipozisyon dönemindeki dişiler olmuştur. Toplam beslenme süresi içinde yer alan aktif besleme fazı süreleri LSD testine göre istatistiksel olarak önemli olurken, başlangıç ve sondalama fazı sürelerinin önemsiz olduğu bulunmuştur. Birinci dönem nimfler taze fasulye meyvesinde beslenirken yerfıstığı ve domates tohumlarında beslenmemiştir. En çok suya yönelim 2, dönem nimflerde görülmüştür. Bireylerin toplam beslendiği süreye göre, en uzun süreden en kısa süreye doğru besinlerin sıralanışı, taze fasulye meyvesi, yerfıstığı tohumu ve domates tohumu şeklinde olmuştur.

In this study, feeding behaviour of all nymphal instars, adult male and preoviposition, oviposition and postoviposition of female of Nezara viridula (L.) individuals was investigated on green bean (Phaseolus vulgaris (L.)) pod, peanuts (Arachis hypogaea (L.)), and tomato (Lycopersicon esculerttum Miller) seeds. In the present work, one hours' observations were performed on the duration of the staying empty place, the staying on the foods, total feeding, the staying on the filter paper which was transferred to distilled water inside of the researching cages and drinking water by stretch their proboscis on the filter paper of N. viridula individuals in the researching cages. Duration of total feeding was investigated to divide 3 stage as starting, probing and active feeding steps. The longest duration of the staying on the foods, except female individuals, and feeding was observed on the green bean pods for all JV. viridula individuals. Most feeding individuals were 5th instar nymphs on the green bean pod, oviposition female on the peanut and preoviposition female on the tomato seed. While active feeding step was statistically importance inside of the total feeding duration, starting and probing steps were found that there is not importance inside of it according to the LSD test. While 1st instar nymphs fed on the green bean pod, they did not feed on the peanut and tomato seed. The most direction towards to the water was observed in the 2nd instar nymphs. According to the total feeding duration of the individuals' arrangement from the highest to the lowest were found as green bean pod, peanut and tomato seed.
