Milk Protein Polymorphism in The Population of Brown Swiss Cattel in Türkiye

In this study, the gene frequencies of a-s1-casein, b-casein, b-lactoglobulin and k-casein types were determined in the Brown Swiss cattle which were raised in Türkiye. The frequencies of a-s1-casein were determined as 0.941 and 0.059 for a-s1-KaB and a-s1-KaC, respectively. Differencies between empricla and theoretical distributions for a-s1-casein genotypes were non-significant. The frequencies of b-casein, were determined as 0.856, 0.134 and 0.009 for b-KaA, b-KaB and b-KaC respectively. Differencies between emprical and theoretical distributions for b-casein genotypes were non-significant. The frequencies of b-lactoglobulin, were determined as 0.497 and 0.503 for b-lgnA and b-lgnB, respectively. Differencies between emprical and theoretical distributions for b-lactoglobulin genotypes were non-significant. The frequencies of k-casein, were determined as 0.521 and 0.479 for k-KaA and k-KaB, respectively. Differencies between emprical and theoretical distributions for k-casein genotypes were non-significant.
