Does maternal smoke exposure has an obesogenic effect of childhood?
Childhood obesity is a worldwide public health concern. Active or passive exposure to tobacco smoke is also a significant source of toxic chemicals exposure. In 2006 years the idea and the term of obesogen was put forward that some of chemical substances make an obesity. Recent years remarkable number of studies investigate that relationship between maternal smoking exposure and prevalance of childhood overweight or obesity. In this commentary is evaluated that possible obesogenic effects of maternal smoking exposure in the childhood period.
