The effect of various nutrient media on microtuber production in potato (solanum tuberosum l.) under in vitro condations

The effect of various growth media on the microtuberization of 4 potato genotypes( Nif,Clone 122, Agria and Resy) was studied under in vitro conditions. Plantlets obtained by meristem culture were micropropagated by transferring into node culture. They were cultured in 3 different solid media to produce microtubers. Tuber number, single tuber weight and tuber yield were recorded for the genotypes tested. The highest microtuber number (2.8), microtuber yield (278.1 mg) and single microtuber weight (92.2 mg) were obtained in the medium containing MS+2 mg/1 BAP and 60 g sucroz.
