Correlation and path analysis of yield components in soybean varieties
Correlation and path analysis of yield components in soybean varieties
The purpose of this study was made to determine the correlations between seed yield and some yield components as well as the .direct and indirect effects of those characters on seed yield in soybean. Seed yield had significant positive correlations with pods per plant and branches per plant. The highest positive correlation was found between seed yield and pods per plant. Path coeffient analysis indicated that pods per plant expressed the highest positive direct effect followed by 100 - seed weight on seed yield. The pods per plant should evaluated to select high yielding soybean in selection.
