Bu çalışma, sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutumları ile kendine saygıları arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, Fırat Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi 2013-2014 eğitim öğretim döneminde 3. ve 4. sınıfta öğrenim gören 198 sınıf öğretmeni adayı oluşturmaktadır. Öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutumlarını ölçmek için Çetin (2006) tarafından geliştirilen Öğretmenlik Mesleği Tutum Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Öğretmen adaylarının kendine saygılarını ölçmek için Bogenç (2005) tarafından geliştirilen Kendine Saygı Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Verilerin çözümlenmesinde yapısal eşitlik modellemesi ile bilgisayar destekli veri analiz programı kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre Öğretmenlik Mesleği Tutum ölçeği ile Kendine Saygı ölçeği arasındaki uyum istatistiklerine göre χ²/sd değeri 2.01, RMSEA değeri 0.072, CFI değeri 0.93, RMR değeri 0.070 ve SRMR 0.080 ve NNFI 0.93 değerlerine ulaşılmıştır. Bu değerlerin iyi uyuma karşılık geldiği ifade edilebilir. Öğretmenlik mesleği tutum ölçeği alt boyutlarından sevgi, değer ve uyum ile özsaygı ölçeği arasındaki uyum istatistikleri de iyi uyuma karşılık geldiği söylenebilir. Araştırma farklı bölümlerde öğrenim gören öğrencilere de uygulanarak araştırmanın sonuçlarını karşılaştırma imkânı sağlanabilir.

This study aims to investigate the relationship between the attitutes of classroom teachers towards teacher proffesion and their self-esteem. The sample of this study included 198 classroom teachers of 3rd and 4th graders of Education Department of Fırat University in the 2013-2014 academic year. Teaching Proffession Attitude Scale developed by Çetin (2006) was used to determine the attitudes of teacher candidates toward teaching profession. Self-esteem Scale developed by Bogenç (2005) was used to determine the self-esteem of teacher candidates. In the data analysis, structural equation modeling and computer-aided data analysis program was used. Based on the results of the study, χ² / sd value of 2.01, RMSEA of 0.072, CFI 0.93, RMR value of 0.070 and SRMR 0.080 and NNF 0.93 value were obtained from the fit statistics between Teaching Profession Attitude Scale and Self-Esteem scale. These values can be expressed as corresponding to good fit. The fit statistics between the subscale of teaching profession attitudes of love, value and self-esteem scale can be said to correspond to good fit. The same research may be conducted on students from different departments for comparison of results with the current research.
