Synthesis and Antifungal Properties of Some Benzimidazole Derivatives

Some benzimidazole derivatives were synthesized and their in vitro antifungal activities were tested against Candida albicans, Candida glabrata and Candida krusei. Compounds 6 and 9 possessed activity comparable to fluconazole against C. albicans with a minimum inhibitory concentration of 12.5 m g/mL.
