An Investigation on The Loading and Unloading Operations in Artvin Forest District
Artvin Forest District which is the best example for mountainously areas in Turkey, was selected as a suitable study area for this investigation. Data which were collected by using the repetition time technique were analyzed. In this region, the loading-unloading and landing operations were examined from the economical and technical perspectives. Time analysis were performed, historical records and thus resulting data were analyzed statistically. The results were discussed and some of the practical implications were recommended. The studies in this investigation were performed in 1995-96 years. As a result, the highest productivity on loading both the softwood and hardwood logs with various methods was determined with Liebher 902.
