OPERATÖR CEMİL PAŞA VE TÜRKİYE’NİN İLK AÇIK KALP MASAJI OLGUSU: 120. YILDÖNÜMÜNDE

Dünyada kullanılmasından hemen sonra kloroformun Osmanlı Devleti’nde de ameliyatlarda kullanıldığı bilinmektedir. Ameliyatlarında kloroform kullanan cerrahlar arasında Cemil Paşa da (Prof. Dr. Cemil Topuzlu) bulunmaktadır. Ülkemizde modern cerrahinin kurucusu olarak bilinen Cemil Paşa, kendi ifadesiyle kloroform anestezisi altında 5000’den fazla ameliyat gerçekleştirmiştir. Bu makalede ele alınan konu, kloroform verilen bir hastada gelişen kardiyak arrest olgusunda Cemil Paşa’nın uyguladığı resüsitasyon ve açık kalp masajıdır. Bu olgu, ülkemizin bilinen ilk açık kalp masajı olgusudur.

OPERATOR CEMİL PASHA AND TURKEY'S FIRST CASE OF OPEN-HEART MASSAGE: ON ITS 120TH ANNIVERSARY

It is known that chloroform was used in surgeries in the Ottoman Empire immediately after its use in the world. Cemil Pasha (Prof. Dr. Cemil Topuzlu) is among the surgeons who used chloroform in their operations. Known as the founder of modern surgery in our country, Cemil Pasha, in his own words, performed more than 5000 operations under chloroform anesthesia. The subject discussed in this article is the resuscitation and open-heart massage performed by Cemil Pasha in a case of cardiac arrest in a patient who was given chloroform. This case is the first known case of open-heart massage in our country.
