Yara İyileşmesinde Epidermal Büyüme Faktörü (EGF) İçeren Yara Örtüsü (Neoderm®) Etkisi

Yara iyileşmesinde etkili olan tanımlanmış büyüme faktörleri mevcuttur. Bu faktörlerden Epidermal Büyüme Faktör’ün (EGF) topikal olarak uygulamasının yara iyileşmesi üzerine etkilerinin incelendiği araştırmalarda EGF’nin epitelizasyonu uyardığı, yara iyileşmesinin erken safhalarında dermis oluşumu üzerine etkili olduğu ve kronik yaraların iyileşmesini uyardığı bildirilmiştir. 2010-2012 yılları arasında abdominoplasti yapılması isteğiyle başvuran hastalardan rastgele seçilen 10 kadın hasta çalışmaya alındı. Tüm hastaların insizyonlarının sağ tarafı Thiocilline® antibiyotikli deri pomadıyla (basitrasin 15000 UI / neomisin sülfat 150 mg, Abdi İbrahim), sol tarafı serum fizyolojikle ıslatılmış Neoderm® yara örtüsüyle kapatıldı. Hastalar, ameliyat sonrası 4. günde karşı tarafa kıyasla sol tarafta ağrıda azalma tanımladı (p≤0.05) ancak yara görünümünde bir fark görülmedi. Ameliyat sonrası 8. günde hastaların sol taraf yara dudaklarındaki hiperemide karşı tarafla karşılaştırıldığında belirgin azalma görüldü (p≤0.05). Sol tarafta inflamasyon fazının çok hızlı geçtiği düşünüldü. Sol taraftaki yara iyileşmesindeki hızlanma etkisi 30. günde devam etse de hastaların 2. ay ve daha sonraki kontrollerinde sağ ve sol taraf arasında fizik muayenede belirgin fark gözlenmedi. Ameliyat sonrası birinci yılda yara maturasyonunun geliştiği görülürken skar görünümü açısından bir fark yoktu. Neoderm® yara örtüsü içinde bulunan EGF nedeniyle yara iyileşmesini hızlandırmakta, ağrıyı azaltmaktadır. Yara iyileşmesinde hızlanma istenen akut ve kronik yaralarda kullanılabilir.

The Effect of Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) Containing Wound Dressing (Neoderm ®) on Wound Healing

Growth factors effective on wound healing are identified. In studies investigating the effects of topical application of Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) upon wound healing, which is one of these factors, it is reported that EGF stimulates wound healing, is effective on dermis formation in the early stages of wound healing, and stimulates healing of chronic wounds. 10 female subjects randomly selected among patients applying for abdominoplasty between the years 2010-2012 were enrolled in the study. In all patients, the right side of the incision was covered with a dressing containing Thiocilline® skin pomade (Bacitracin 15000 IU / Neomycin sulfate 150 mg, Abdi İbrahim) and left side was covered with saline soaked Neoderm ® wound dress. Patients reported a reduction in the pain on the left side when compared to the opposite side on the 4th day after surgery (p≤0.05) although there was no difference in the appearance of the wound. There was a significant reduction of the hyperemia in the left side of the wound when compared to the other side (p≤0.05) on the 8th day after surgery. It was thought that the inflammation phase subsided very quickly on the left side. Although the acceleration effect on the wound healing continued on the 30th day, no significant difference was observed in the physical examination between the left and right sides in the second month and subsequent controls of the patients. In the first year after surgery, it was observed that wound maturation was accomplished and there was no difference in terms of the appearance of the scar. Neoderm® wound dressing accelerates wound healing and reduces pain by virtue of the EGF content. It can be used an in acute and chronic wounds when acceleration in wound healing is desired.
