The Role Of Polymerase Chaın Reaction In The Diagnosis Of Toxoplasmosis

Toxoplasma gondiiis one of the most common infectious agents among humans throughout the world.Laboratory diagnosis of human toxoplasmosis has relied traditionally on serological tests. But these tests areinadequate in immunocompromised patients toxoplasma encephalitis and pneumonia, intrauterine toxoplasmainfections and ocular toxoplasmosis. Many studies have done to assess the value of detecting T.gondiiin humansamples using polymerase chain reaction PCR . Findings created that PCR could be a rapid and sensitivetechnique for the diagnose of intrauterine, ocular, cerebral and disseminated toxoplasmosis
