Echinococcosis, günümüzde gelişmekte olan ülkelerde en önemli problemlerden biridir. Türkiye’nin de içinde olduğu bazı ülkelerde endemik olarak görülür.Bu çalışmada antihelmintik ilaçlardan prazikuantelin Echinococcus granulosus protoskolesleri üzerine invitro etkisi araştırıldı.Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Parazitoloji Laboratuvarında doğal infekte sığır hidatid kistlerinden elde edilen hidatid kist sıvısı kullanıldı. Kist sıvısı bir saat bekletilerek kist kumu elde edildi. Prazikuantelin % 0.1,% 0.2 ve % 1’lik solüsyonları hazırlandı. Tüm solüsyonlar UV ile sterilize edildi. Protoskolesler prazikuantelin % 0.1, % 0.2 ve % 1’lik solüsyonları ile 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 45 ve 60 dakika muamele edildi. %1’lik prazikuantelin 30. dakikada güçlü skolisidal etki gösterdiği bulundu. Fakat, % 0.1, % 0.2’lik prazikuantel bir saat sonunda yeterli skolisidal etkiye sahip değildi. Sonuç olarak, %1’ lik prazikuantel solüsyonunun skolisidal amaçla kullanılabileceği düşünüldü.

Echinococcosis has been an important problem in developing countries for years. Echinococcosis is endemic in many countries including Turkey.In this study, the in vitro effects of praziquantel of antihelmintic drugs on protoscolices of Echinococcusgranulosus was evaluated. We used hydatid cystic liquid obtained from naturally infected bovine hydatid cysts in the Laboratuary of Parasitology of Medical School of Ondokuz Mayıs University. The cystic liquid was left to precipitate for an hour to obtain cystic sand. 0.1 %, 0.2 % and 1 % of praziquantel solutions were prepared. All solutions were sterilized by UV-ray The scolices were mixed with the solutions of praziquantel containing 0.1 %, 0.2 % and 1 % for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 45 and 60 minutes. It was found that 1 % praziquantel had strong scolicidal effect in 30th minutes. But 0.1 % and 0.2 % praziquantel did not have enough scolicidal effect in an hour. It was concluded that1 % praziquantel solution could be used for scolicidal purpose.
