Human Herpesvırus 8 Ve Kaposi Sarkomu

İlk kez 1872 yılında Moritz Kaposi tarafından “İdiopatik Multipl Pigmente Sarkom” olarak tanımlanan Kaposi Sarkom KS , Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome AIDS olguları ile ilişkisinin belirlendiği 1981 yılından günümüze değin gittikçe popülarite kazanan bir yandaş tümöral yapı olarak ifade edilebilir 1 . Hakkında; gerçek bir neoplazm mı, yoksa neoplastik olmayan vasküler bir oluşum mu; endotelyuma ait olduğu kabul edilmekle birlikte, prolifere olan endotelyumun kan damarına mı, yoksa lenfatik endotele mi ait olduğu tartışmaları süregelmişse de çağdaş görüşe göre iki sistemden hiçbirisine ait olmadığı, tümörün immatür mezenşimal hücrelerden kaynak aldığı söylenebilir 2 .
