Diş Çürüklerinin İmmünolojisi

Diş çürükleri, yiyeceklerdeki şekerden özellikle sukrozdan, dental plaktaki bakterilerin oluşturdukları asitle minenin demineralizasyonu ile başlar. İlerleyen lezyonlarda bakteriler bu değişime uğramış mineye girerler. Bakterilerin dentin tübüllerine nüfuz etmesi lezyonun son devresini oluşturur 1 . Diş plağı diş yüzeyine, dolgu ve protezlere sıkıca yapışan mikrop kümesi olarak tanımlanır. Organize bir yapı olan diş plağında filaman şeklinde mikroorganizmalar çoğunluktadır ve diş plağı tükrük gluko proteinleri ile hücre dışı ürünlerinden meydana gelen bir organik matriksden oluşur. Ağız çalkalama veya su sıkılması ile yerinden ayrılmaz 2 .
