Âşık, içinde yaşadığı toplumun, ekonomik, toplumsal, kültürel ve siyasal olaylar karşısındaki duygu ve düşüncelerini aktarandır. Dünle yarın arasında bu gün bir köprüdür. Âşıklar, âşıklık geleneğini geçmişten günümüze taşıyanlardır. Türk âşıklık geleneği ustaçırak ilişkisine dayanmaktadır. Bu geleneğin temsilcileri olan âşıklar ustalarından öğrendiklerini, bir anlamda usta mallarını, çırakları vasıtasıyla geleceğe taşımaktadırlar. Geçmişten günümüze söz medeniyetimize büyük katkıları bulunan âşıklarımızı ve âşıklık sanatını, 20. yüzyıl ve daha sonraki yüzyıllara aktarmak için bu geleneğe sahip çıkılmalıdır. Bu çalışmada Türkiye’de âşıklık ve âşıklık geleneğinin tarihi süreci ele alınmış, söz konusu geleneğin geleceğe taşınmasının önemi üzerinde durulmuştur

The lover is the one who tranfers the feelings and thougts of the society-he lives in-on the face of economic, social, cultural and political events.Today, it is a bridge between yesterday and tomorrow.The lovers are the ones who carry the devotion custom from past to nowadays.Turkish devotion custom is based on the mentor system.The lovers who are the agents of this custom carry the stuff they have learnt -in a sense master goodsfrom their masters to the future via apprentices.In order to transfer our lovers -who have made great contributions to our speech civilization from past to nowadays- and devotion art to 20th century and the following centuries, this custom should be protected. In this work, the historical process of devotion and devotion custom are dealed, the transfer of this custom to the future is emphasized
