Kısa Dalga Savaştan Soğuk Savaşa, Uluslararası Radyo Yayıncılığı

Radyonun icadının ardından düzenli radyo yayınlarının ortaya çıktığı 20’li yılların sonuna doğru uluslararası radyo yayıncılığı da başlamıştır. İlk düzenli uluslararası yayınlar sömürgeci devletlerin yurt dışında yaşayan yurttaşlarına ve sömürgelerine yönelikti.

From Short Wave War to Cold War, Transnational Radio Broadcasting

After the invention of the radio, transnational radio broadcasting started in the late 20’s that regular radio broadcasts emerged. First regular transnational broadcasts were intended to expats and colonies.Transnational radio broadcasting turned into Short Wave War in 30s. During this period, radio became an ideological and diplomatic instrument in the international context. The Short Wave War expanded during the Second World War, including pirate radio broadcasting across the border. The bipolar World, formed after the Second World War started the Cold War period. This time, transnational radio broadcasting has become an instrument of the Cold War. In this period when international politics became sharp as the East and West blocs, both blocs made propaganda broadcasts through their transnational radios. With the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the regime change in the Iron Curtain countries, transnational radio broadcasts entered a new era. In this study, transnational radio broadcasting has been tried to be outlined until the end of the Cold War period. For this purpose, literature was searched and the role of transnational radio broadcasting in historical process was examined. As a result, it has been shown that transnational radio broadcasting is used as an ideological and diplomatic tool by the states and it is still continuing for similar reasons even though its technology changes today. In addition, the new system that tries to integrate shortwave with digital broadcasting into daily life is also mentioned.
