Occupational health and safety inspections at work places whereby Biocidal product existence is concerned, i.e. production, use, refinement, storage etc., are run by labour inspectors authorized by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Labour Inspection Board in order to avoid possible health and safety risks of the employers. These inspections mentioned, are conducted based on the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and its subsequent bilaws. Labour inspectors conduct their inspections along with programmes devised by Labour Inspection Board. Programmes, run by the inspectors with a pro-active approach, are planned based on three different sets of criteria; sector, area and/or risks. In addition to programmed inspections, labour inspectors also conduct investigations concerning work accidents, occupational diseases, and upon complaints. Inspection programmes for the workplaces, where Biocidal goods are produced, are devised according to sector based criterion. For example; pesticide production sector is an inspection programme on its own. This paper aims to convey information concerning Labour Inspection Board, Occupational Health and Safety inspection programmes, labour inspectors, and inspections carried out at workplaces where pesticides are produced in Turkey
