The Criteria For Registration of the Plant Protection Products

Plant protection practices are used for the Aims: to increase agricultural production by controlling diseases, pests and weeds that restrict crop production and to improve the quality. Plant Protection Products (PPPs) used in crop production against harmful organisms is one of the indispensable agricultural input in all over the world and also our country. The purpose of the code on the registration of PPPs is to specify the procedures and principles related to the licensing of PPPs that use in the fields grown plants and in the warehouse kept them against harmful organisms. Plant Protection and Quarantine Law (The Law No: 6968) and the Regulation on Pesticide and Plant Protection Equipment (The Regulation No: 11142) prepared according to The Law of 6968 are the basis of this code. After that, the code was rearranged under Law No. 5996 on veterinary services, plant health, food and feed in the June 11, 2010. According to the EU harmonization laws, the code was rearranged 5 times and final version was published in the March 25, 2011. This code covers the rules required for the companies to take the license, their responsibilities, PPPs and all the issues related to licensing and registration. The companies have royalty of PPPs, the real and incorporated bodies carried out the trials for these products are within the scope of this regulation.
