THE IMPORTANCE OF LEASING THROUGH IMPORTING TO BRIDGE THE BAP IN MODERN TEXTILE MACHINERY REGUIREMENTE FOR OUR TEXTILE SECTOR AND ITS BENEFITS

Our textile sector with its exports income exceeding 2 billion dollars has an important place in the total exports income. Nowadays, as we are planning to participate in the European Community, it has been stated in the 1.th Industrial Council meeting on September 1987 that the unique industrial sector is the textile sector wich can compete in the European Community and which will not create any problem. In the future, The ability of the Turkish textile industry to compete with the countries which have a say in textile industry will depend on having modern machines and facilities, and on producing and selling quality cheap goods. In fact, 213 of the machine layouts that exist in our textile sector are old, and modern machine requirements have attained important sizes. The difficulties in both the manufacturing and import activities have caused the modern machine capacities in our textile sector not to attain the desined level. In this subject, the alternative of leasing by imports is in front of the investor firms and by this method which is motivated by the government some important benefits and facilities may be obtained. The investors (firms), even if they use this method for certain periods only, they may have some chance to have their investments realized more easily.
