There haue been some technological improuements in the knittingindushy which are to be dealt with in order toprodu- ce superior, at least satisfactory, quality goods. One of the major factors determining the quality and appearance of knitted fabrics is known as rriction': which affects both the geomehy of the final product and the performance of the knitting machine. Therefore, the effects of frictional properties of yam on knitting procedures are discussed and remedies, to reduce the harm resulted from varying frictionalproperties ofyam, are giuen in this article.
