Production methods, properties and applications of microfibers

Nowadays production of very fine fibers has become possible with the development of synthetic fibers. Microfibers, which are much thinner than conventional fibers, have been gaining more importance each day due to their physical and comfort properties. Production methods for the microfibers, which can be manufactured from polyester, nylon, polypropylene, acrylic and viscose, have been developed and many utilization areas for them have been pointed out. In this study, production methods and utilization areas of microfibers have been examined.
