Daha sona kumaj geometrisinin, kumapn kalmlzk, ortme, gozeneklilik, yiizey ozelligi gibi yapcsal parametreleri ile mekanik ve estetik nitelikleriyle ilifkili kullancm ozellikleri arascndaki ilijkileri agcklayrc~ temel ilkelere defiinilmistir. 

RELATIONS BETWEEN THE GEOMETRICAL STRUCTURE OF A FABRIC AND ITS END USES

It is explainedfirst, in this article, how the fabric geometry is formed and how it is defined mathematically, depending on the fabric weave and thread densities as fabric design parameters, on the properties of diameter, extension, bending and compression of the yams, and also on the machine through yarn tension. Reference is made, later on, to the basic principles explaining the relations between the structural parameters of the fabric geometry such as fabric thickness, cover, porosity and surface properties and its end uses related to its mechanical and aesthetic characteristics.
