Manufacture of warp and weft inlaid knitted structures on flat knitting machines

As reinforcements within the composites, flat weft knitted structures are used due to their versatile shapebility in iparison with the other textile preforms. In order to improve their mechanical performances, studies on structural elopments by inlaying weft and warp yarns within the flat knitted structures are being carried out. In this study, mfacturing of flat knitted structures with weft and warp inlays, which are not connected to the structure with plain or : stitches, on flat knitting machines are examined and the modifications done on the flat knitting machines to inlay p and weft yarns are also mentioned.
