Teknik tekstiller konusunda geniş kapsamlı bilgilendirmeyi amaçlayan serinin ilki olan bu makalede, teknik tekstillerin tanımı, gelişimi ve kullanım alanları üzerine bilgi verilmektedir. Tekstil sektörünün en hızlı büyüyen alanı olan teknik tekstiller günümüzde tıp, taşımacılık, koruyucu giysiler, tarım, spor malzemeleri, paketleme, jeotekstiller, inşaat ve sanayi gibi birçok alanda karşımıza çıkmaktadır.

In this article, which is the first of a serie aiming at giving comprehensive information about technical textiles, the scope of technical textiles, its application areas and developments in these areas were mentioned. Technical textiles, being the fastest growing area of textiles sector, are nowadays applied to several areas including medicine, transportation, protection, agriculture, sports, packaging, civil engineering and industry.
