Yanal Yüklü Kısa Kazıkların Davranışının Deneysel Olarak İncelenmesi

Bu çalışmada, kum zemin içerisinde yer alan rijit kısa kazıkların zemin yüzeyi üzerinden belirli bir yükseklikte uygulanan yanal yük etkisindeki davranışları araştırılmıştır. Bu amaçla, hem gevşek hem de sıkı kum zemin durumunda, bir seri küçük ölçekli model deney çalışması yapılmıştır. Yapılan deneysel çalışmalarda; kazık boyu, kazık çapı, kazık en kesit geometrisi ve kazık malzemesinin yanal yük taşıma kapasitesine etkileri incelenmiştir. Deneysel çalışmalardan elde edilen sonuçlar, zemin sıkılığının yanal yük taşıma kapasitesini önemli derecede etkilediğini göstermektedir. Bununla birlikte; mevcut analitik yöntemlerde kullanılan eşdeğer dairesel alan kabulü ile özellikle gevşek kum zemin durumunda muhafazakar yanal yük taşıma kapasitesi değerleri elde edilmiştir

Experimental Investigation of the Behaviour of the Laterally Loaded Short Piles In this study, the behaviour of short rigid piles founded in sand subjected to a lateral load applied at a certain height above sand surface has been investigated. For this purpose, a series of small-scale model tests have been conducted both in loose and dense sand conditions. In the experimental studies, the effects of pile embedment length, pile diameter, the geometry of pile’s cross-section and pile material on the lateral load capacity have been explored. The results obtained from experimental studies indicate that the relative ground density significantly affect the lateral load capacity. However, the equivalent circular area assumption used by existing analytical approaches produces conservative lateral load capacities, especially in loose sand conditions
