Bu makalede yok olma tehlikesine maruz bir değişke (idiom) olan Teleütçenin sosyolengüistik durumu konu edilmektedir. Yazarlar Teleütlerin özellikle demografik durumu, dil yetkinliği, dilsel tutumu ve ana dillerine bağlılığı gibi konular üzerinde durmuştur. Veriler 10-25 Temmuz 2012 tarihleri arasında yazarların Rusya Federasyonu Kemerovo vilayetinde yaşayan Teleütleri ziyaretinde gözlem, mülakat ve anket yöntemleriyle toplanmış ve değerlendirilmiştir.

This paper presents the results of a sociolinguistic research conducted between 10-25 July 2012 among the Teleut people living mainly in the Kemerovo province of the Russian Federation. The goals of the research were to investigate the demographic features of the Teleuts, the patterns of language use, language attitude with regard to the Teleut language and mother tongue loyalty in the Teleut community. The research results based on the data collected from interviews, observations ans questionnaires.
