20. yüzyılda tarih biliminde çarpıcı olan bir gelişme, ekonomi, toplum, uygarlıklar ana başlıkları altında genel anlamıyla sosyal bilimlerin tarihselleşmesidir. Geçmişle kıyaslandığında bu vakıanın, son yüzyıldaki muhtelif gelişmelerin en önemlisi olduğunu vurgulamalıyız. Tarih biliminin son yüzyılda kaydettiği hızlı gelişmeyi Annales ekolünün tesirleriyle açıklamak bir bakış açısıdır. Bu çalışmada, takibinde bulunduğum konu bakımından kendimi tarih bilimindeki genel gelişmeleri tafsilatıyla açıklamak sorumluluğunda hissetmedim, fakat Türk tarih yazımının evriminde Annales ekolünün yadsınamaz müthiş önemine de nazar-ı dikkat atfetmemek imkansızdır. Bu nedenle Marc Bloch ve Lucien Febvre’nin 1929 yılında Strasbourg Üniversitesi’nde ders verdikleri bir dönemde, iki dünya savaşı arasında kurulan bu ekolün, nasıl bir gelişim süreci geçirdiği ve Fernand Braudel’le birlikte bu gelişim sürecinin Türk tarih yazımına ne şekilde yansıdığı konusu üzerinde genel hatlarıyla durmaya çalıştım.

Social sciences like economy, community and civilization’s getting historical form is a significant development in the 20th century. İt has to be emphasized that, compared with the past, that this fact is the most important of the various developments in the last century. It’s a point of view that explaining of the fast progress in the History science with the annales schools’s influence. İn this study I didn’t feel the responsibility of explaining the general developments in the science of history with details but, ıt’s not possible not to consider a big effect that the annales schools have on the Turkish histography. For that reason, I have aimed at focusing of the development of this school that was established between the two world wars, and what sort of chancing progress it followed and also how it affected the writing of Turkish histography with Fernand Braudel in 1929, When Marc Bloch and Lucien febvre were lecturing at Strasbourg University.
