2000'li yıllara doğru Türkiye balıkçılığının durumu. Çalışmada ikincil veriler kullanılmış ve Türkiye balıkçılığının bugünkü durumu özet olarak sunulmuştur. Su ürünleri yetiştiriciliği ve deniz balıkçılığının durumu ayrı ayrı ele alınıp üretimleri bölgeler ve yıllar itibariyle karşılaştırılmıştır. Çalışma su ürünleri potansiyeli, avcılık potansiyeli, balıkçı tekneleri, başat türleri, ihracat, ithalat ve iç tüketim miktarları hakkında da özet bilgiler sunmuştur. İkincil verilerin değerlendirilmesi, su ürünleri yetistiriciliginin her geçen gün daha popüler olmasına ve sayılarının artmasına rağmen balik talebini karşılamada, ekonomiye istihdam ve gelir katkısı sağlamada halen yeterince önemli bir rol oynamadığı sonucunu göstermiştir.

Seconder data is used in this study and present status of Turkish fishery is revealed. This paper gives brief information about water resources, capture fisheries, number of fishing vessels, their type, length and horse power, main fish species, species wise aquaculture production and its rate in total fish production, catch, export, import, consumption of fishery products in Turkey. Marine and aquaculture fisheries are compared and their state wise total production was given for last six years. Statistics shows that aquaculture production was increased five times between the years 1991-1996 but in the result of comparing with marine capture fisheries it still plays minor role in the supply of sea food, generation of income and employment.
