Denizel ağ kafeslerde yapılan akuakültürün çevreye etkisi Sığacık Körfezi’nde su kalitesi çalışmaları yapılarak değerlendirildi. Hünkar Ltd. Ştd.’ne ait balık çiftliği Sığacık Körfezi’nde yer almaktadır. Bu çalışmada balık çiftliklerinin su sütununa olan etkileri incelenmiştir. Bu amaçla, besleyici tuzlar (inorganik amonyum, nitrat, nitrit, silikat, fosfat), magnezyum, kalsiyum, pH, çözünmüş oksijen, tuzluluk, organik madde miktarları aylık olarak incelenmiştir. Bu parametreler etkili çiftlik yönetimi ve sürdürülebilir akuakültür için son derece önemlidir. Araştırma sonucunda bölgede su kalitesi kriteri ile anlamlı ama tehlikeli olmayan boyutlarda bir kirlilik gözlenmiştir.
Investigation on impacts of coastal cage aquaculture to aquatic environment in Sığacık (Seferihisar, Izmir) region. The impacts of marine cage aquaculture on the environment were evaluated by studying the water quality of Sığacık Bay. A fish farm that belongs to Hünkar Company is located in this area. This study was conducted to examine the variations in water column of fish farms. Therefore, nutrients (inorganic ammonium, nitrate, nitrite, silicate and phosphate), magnesium, calcium, pH, dissolved oxygen, salinity, organic material in water column was investigated monthly. These parameters are important for effective farm management and sustainable aquaculture. As a result of this research, we have found that these areas have been polluted by fish farms. But this pollution level is not reached to dangerous scale which is parallel to water quality criteria.
