İzmir Körfezi'nde hayalet avcılığa neden olan kayıp uzatma ağı miktarının tespitine yönelik bir araştırma

Hayalet avcılık; deniz ve iç sularda çeşitli nedenlerden dolayı kaybolan, uzatma ağları ye balık tuzakları gibi av araçlarının avcılığa devam etmesi sonucunda ortaya çıkan istenmeyen balıkçılık durumudur. Bu çalışma, izmir Körfezi'nde kayıp ağ problemi, nedenleri ve kayıp ağ yoğunluğunun olduğu bölgeleri belirlemek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu amaçla, bölgede faaliyet gösteren balıkçılar ve balıkçı kooperatifi başkanları ile anket yapılmıştır. Anket sonuçlarına göre, izmir Körfezi'nde 2002 yılında yaklaşık olarak 200-280 km. uzatma ağının çeşitli nedenlerden dolayı kaybolduğu tahmin edilmiştir.

An investigation on the determination of amount of lost set net which cause to ghost fishing in Izmir Bay

Ghost fishing is an unwanted fishing situation which arises from the continuity of catching by the set net and fish traps after being lost in the marine and fresh-water. This study was carried out to determine the lost net problem, its reasons and the lost net density in ' Izmir Bay. Therefore, a questionnaire has been made to the fishermen who are using set nets and heads of fishery cooperatives in Izmir Bay. According to the questionnaire, it was estimated that approximately 200-280 km set nets have been lost due to various reasons in Izmir Bay during the year of 2002.
