Determination of Nursing Students' Perceptions on Stem Cells

Aim: This research was carried out to determine the perceptions of nursing students about stem cells. Method: The research was conducted with 276 nursing students studying at a state university. In the study, data were collected with the Descriptive Characteristics Form and the Stem Cell Perception Scale between February 01 and March 01, 2020. Data were analyzed with descriptive tests, Mann Whitney-U test, One-Way Analysis of Variance, Kruskal Wallis test and multiple lineer regression analysis in SPSS 23 statistical program. Results: The mean age of the students was 19.60±1.26 (min=18, max=25) and 79% were female. The stem cell perception scale mean score of the students is 66.84±6.88, and statistically significant difference was found between the age, the class they attend, their participation in the stem cell-themed scientific program, their knowledge about the cord blood bank and the Stem Cell Perception Scale mean score (p
