EFFECTS OF WHOLE-BODY ELECTROMYOSTIMULATION ON BODY COMPOSITION IN DIFFERENT AGE WOMEN

The purpose of the study is to examine the effect of body electromyostimilation (TB-EMS) on body composition in women of different age groups. EMS training that was took 8 weeks (25 minutes/day, 2 day/week) was implemented on sedentary women volunteers (n = 24) via EMS training device (Miha Bodytec, Augsburg,Germany). An electric current was applied with a frequency of 85 Hz intermittently with 4 seconds of activation and 4 seconds of rest (Table 2) at the subject’s maximum tolerance limit. Following a general warm-up, exercise program was applied at Advance 2 level (10 min) and at the level of Cellulite / Metabolism 1 (10 min) (forward, backward and side movements and squat movements with their own body weight). Bioelectrical impedance analyzer (Tanita BC 418 MA) was used for determination of body composition before and after 8 weeks of application. A decrease in fat values was found in the lower limbs in Group 2 and Group 3, and in both lower and upper limbs in Group 1. TB-EMS study was found to be effective in all age groups, but this effect was statistically significant only in the group of women in Group 1 (p <.05). TB-EMS was found to be effective in all age groups, but it was determined that this effect was not effective on body composition in Group 3 (35-41 years) in terms of exercise intensity and duration
