Konumuzun temelini teşkil eden "bilim eleştirisi" genelde Batı Uygarlığının bilime dair iki anlayışı nedeniyle ortaya çıkmış bulunuyor. Bu iki anlayış, bir yandan bilimsel yöntemin evreni anlama ve kavramanın tek geçerli yol olduğu inancı; öte yandan da bu bilimin elde ettiği sonuçların aç gözlü bir teknolojiyle, daha çok kapitalist karın hizmetinde uygulanmasının gayet uygun olduğu düşüncesidir. Modern bilimin eleştirilerini bu iki noktaya dayandırarak iki grupta inceleyebiliriz. Birinci grup daha çok yine bilimin içinde "metodolojik eleştiri" yoluyla modern bilimin aksayan yönlerini tamir etmeye çalışanlardır. İkinci grup ise daha çok "insani değerleri" vurgulayarak ve doğu düşüncesine yönelerek eleştirisini yapan batıda "anti - bilim" hareketi olarak ortaya çıkmış olan anlayıştır.

"Critique of science" as the underlying topic of this paper, emerges from two dominant approachs to science that are popular in Western civilization. These two approachs, on one hand embrace scientific method as the mere valid way of grasping and understanding the universe and on the other hand, the reached scientific conclusions with technology is at the disposal of capitalist profit is considered as an appropriate application. The criticisms of modern science may be hold by resting on these two points. In the first comp, they try to compensate the defective sides of modern science though "methodological criticism" by standing inside of science. And the second group by emphasizing "humane values" and orienting toward Eastern thought criticizes the science radically and this became "anti-scientific" movement.
