Bu çalışmanın amacı, fiziksel istismar açısından üniversite öğrencilerinin problem çözme becerileri algılarını incelemektir. Araştırmada Mersin Üniversitesinin çeşitli bölümlerine devam eden 399 öğrenciye Problem Çözme Envanteri (PÇE) ve Kişisel Bilgi Formu uygulanmıştır. Verilere Tek Yönlü Varyans Analizi (F Testi) uygulanmıştır. Bulgular, çocukluğunda fiziksel istismara uğramış öğrencilerin problem çözme becerilerine yönelik algılarının yetersiz olduğunu göstermiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlara dayanılarak okul psikolojik danışmanlarına çeşitli öneriler sunulmuştur.

The purpose of this study to examine the perceptions of problem solving skills of university students according to physical abuse. 399 students attending various faculty of Mersin University had been administred Problem Solving Inventory (PSI) and Personal Data Questionaire. Analysis of variance (F Test) were used for statistical analysis of data. The findings shown that, problem solving skills perceptions of students experienced physical abuse during childhood were inadeguate. Recommendations were made on the bases of the results to school counselors.
