The Analytic Hierarchy Process Applications in Personnel Appraisal

Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is a multi criteria decision making method widely used in decision making. In this study primarily concept and benefits of AHP are explained and some critics are stated. Then a literature review of studies on performance appraisal using AHP is presented. It is stated that AHP making possible by structuring decision hierarchy, developing priorities of criteria, evaluating intangible and tangible criteria together, determining inconsistencies of judgments and testing sensitivity of the decision model appears to be a useful tool for decision making in personnel appraisal
