GPS (Global Positioning System) ile gerek mutlak gerekse rölatif olarak üç boyutta konum belirlenebilmekte ve çok duyarlı sonuçlar elde edilebilmektedir. Oysa GPS'den elde edilen yükseklikle);.' elipsoid yükseklikleri olup, pratik haritacılıkta kullanılan yüksekliklerden farklıdır. Bu çalışmada GPS ölçmeleri sonucunda elde edilen yüksekliklerin klasik haritacılıkta kullanılan yüksekliklere dönüşümü incelenmektedir.

The three dimensional positions of any points (x, y coordinates and height) are determined in terms of not only absolute but also relative using the GPS methods. Therefore, precisely results can be obtained. However, the heights obtained by GPS are ellipsoidal heights and they are different from the heights used for practical works. In this investigation, the heights obtained from GPS and their transformation for the conventional mapping are evaluated.
