İskeletsel sınıf III maloklüzyona sahip ortognatik cerrahi hastalarının cerrahi öncesi ve cerrahi sonrasında benlik saygısı, eleştiriye duyarlılık ve sosyal görünüş kaygısı düzeylerinin değerlendirilmesi

Amaç: Bu araştırmanın amacı ortodontik tedavileri yapılan iskeletsel sınıf III maloklüzyona sahip hastaların ortognatik cerrahi öncesinde ve cerrahiden en az 6 ay sonrasındaki benlik saygısı, eleştiriye duyarlılık ve sosyal görünüş kaygısının değerlendirilmesi ve cinsiyetin bu psikolojik durumlar üzerine etkisinin incelenmesidir. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Çalışmaya iskeletsel sınıf III maloklüzyona sahip, ortognatik tedavi ihtiyacı olan ve herhangi bir sendromu bulunmayan 45 hasta (18 erkek; 27 kız) dahil edilmiştir. Hastaların ortalama yaşı 21.4±2.02 yıldır. Hastaların tümüne Le Fort 1 osteotomi ve bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomisi ile çift çene ortognatik cerrahi uygulanmıştır. Hastalara ortognatik cerrahi olmadan önce ve cerrahiden en az 6 ay sonra Rosenberg Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği ve Sosyal Görünüş Kaygısı Ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Pre and post operative evaluation of self-esteem, sensitivity to criticism and social appearance anxiety of orthognathic surgery patients with skeletal Class III malocclusion

Background: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the self-esteem, sensitivity to criticism and social appearance anxiety levels of patients with skeletal class III malocclusion before and at least 6 months after surgery and to examine the effect of gender on these psychological conditions. Methods: Forty-five patients (18 males, 27 females) with skeletal class III malocclusion who need orthognathic surgery treatment and do not have any syndrome were included in this study. Mean age of the patients were 21.4±2.02 years. Le Fort 1 osteotomy and bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy were performed to all patients.
