Diş Hekimliği Fakültesine Başvuran Hastaların Diş Macunu Tercihleri Ve Diş Macunlarındaki Flor İle İlgili Görüşleri

Bu çalışmanın amacı, iki farklı şehirde diş hekimliği fakültesine başvuran hastaların diş macunları tercihini ve bu tercihlerindeki bilinç durumlarını belirlemektir. Bu çalışmada farklı şehirlerdeki iki diş hekimliği fakültesinin restoratif diş tedavisi anabilim dalına başvuran 500’er gönüllü birey yer aldı. Hastaların ağız içi muayeneleri yapıldı ve DMFT değerleri kaydedildi. Yapılan anket aracılığıyla demografik bilgiler, bireylerin hangi diş macunlarını kullandığı, diş macunlarındaki florla ilgili bilgi ve görüşleri, diş hekimlerinin hastalarını çürük riski açısından bilgilendirme ve diş macunlarını sorgulama durumları ile ilgili veriler elde edildi. Toplanan verilerin istatistiksel analizi Ki-Kare testi uygulanarak gerçekleştirildi. Her iki şehirde ankete katılan tüm bireylerin %13’ünün florsuz diş macunu tercih ettiği tespit edildi. Florsuz diş macunu kullananların İstanbul’da %72’sinin ve Konya’da % 86’sının florsuz diş macununu bilinçli bir tercihle kullanmadığı görüldü. Florlu diş macununu bilinçli olarak kullanma oranı İstanbul’da çalışmaya katılan tüm bireylerin %33, Konya’da %28’ dir. Konya’daki bireylerin % 40’ı, İstanbul’daki bireylerin % 36 sı florsuz macunların daha zararsız olduğunu düşünmektedir. Konya’daki bireylerin ve İstanbul’daki bireylerin kullandıkları diş macunlarının diş hekimleri tarafından sorgulanma oranı sırasıyla %20 ve %25, çürüğe yatkınlıkları konusunda diş hekimleri tarafından bilgilendirilme oranları sırasıyla % 40 ve % 42’dir. Hastaların %13’ü florsuz diş macunu kullanmakta, %40’ı florsuz macunların daha zararsız olduğunu düşünmektedir. Hastalar diş macunlarını flor açısından bilinçli bir şekilde seçmemektedir. Diş hekimlerinin hastalarını bilgilendirme oranları % 50’ den azdır.

Tooth Paste Preferences Of The Patients Applied To The Faculty Of Dentistry And Their Views On Tooth Pastes

The aim of this study is to determine the toothpastes preferred by the patients who applied to the dentistry faculty and their state of consciousness in the choice of these toothpastes. This study included 500 volunteer individuals who applied to the restorative dental treatment department of two dental faculties. DMFT values of the patients were were recorded. Demographic information, which toothpastes used by individuals, information and opinions about fluoride in toothpastes, data on the status of informing patients about the risk of caries and questioning toothpastes by dentists were obtained from the questionnaire. Statistical analysis of the data was performed by applying Chi-Square test. In both cities, 13% of all individuals used fluoride-free toothpaste, 72% in Istanbul and 86% in Konya did not use conscious toothpaste. The rate of conscious use of fluoride toothpaste is 33% of all patients in Istanbul and 28% of all patients in Konya. 40% of patients in Konya and 36% of patients in Istanbul think that fluoride-free pastes are more harmless. It was seen that the toothpastes used by the patients were questioned by dentist 20% in Konya, %25 in İstanbul and 40% of patients in Konya, 42% in Istanbul were informed about their susceptibility to caries by dentist. 13% of patients use flour-free toothpaste and 40% think that fluoride-free toothpaste is more harmless. Patients do not consciously choose toothpastes for fluoride. The rate of informing dentists to patients is less than 50%.
