Seramik ve Transfer Baskı: 1750-1900

Seramik üzerine transfer baskı, 1750 dolaylarında İngiltere’de icat edilir ve seri üretime uyarlanır. Proses, zaman içinde, sır-üstü uygulamalardan daha kaliteli olan sır-altı pratiğine, bulanık imgelerden net ve canlı görünümlere doğru evrilir. Böylelikle albenili Çin porselenlerini süratle taklit etmenin yolu açılmış olur. Görünümleri nedeniyle “mavi-beyaz” olarak adlandırılan transfer baskılı ürünlerde ilkin Çin tasarımları taklit edilmiştir. Bu grup mamuller içinde “söğüt motifi” özellikle önemlidir. Zaman içinde konu dağarcığı genişler ve Neo-klasik temalardan, janr sahnelerine, politik figürlerden, bitkisel tasarımlara uzanan bir zenginlik sergiler. 1820’lerde maviye ikame edilen farklı renkler de devreye girer. Fakat çok renkli transfer baskı için 20.yy.’ı ve litografiyi beklemek gerekecektir.
