Antemortem dıagnosıs of atrıal septal defect ın a newborn water buffalo calf (bubalus bubalıs): a case report

Bu vaka raporunda iki günlük, dişi bir mandabuzağısında (Malak) Atrial Septal Defekt’in (ASD)klinik açıdan tanısal değerlendirilmesi yapıldı.Ana klinik belirtiler; nefes darlığı, halsizlik ve taşikardiidi. Kalp bölgesinin oskültasyonunda; sistolik üfürüm sternumun sol tarafında net olarak duyuldu.Doppler Ekokardiyografi bulgularına dayanarak;ASD, şiddetli triküspit yetmezliği, hafif mitral yetmezlik, hafif perikardiyal efüzyon, mitral kapak prolapsusu, triküspit ve pulmoner kapak displazisi tanısı konuldu. Patent foramen ovale buzağılarda görülebilmesine rağmen malaklarda raporedilmemiştir. Bu vaka raporu malaklarda da çeşitli kalp anomalilerini göstermek ve klinisyenlere faydalı olmak amacıyla hazırlanmıştır

This report clinically diagnosticevaluation of Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) in a two-days-old, female water buffalo calf. The mainclinicall signs consisted of dyspnea, weakness andtachycardia. In cardiac auscultation, systolicmurmurs were best heard on the left side of thesternum. The animal was diagnosed to have ASD bydoppler echocardiography. Severe tricuspidregurgitation, mild mitral regurgitation, mildpericardial effusion, mitral tricuspid valveprolapsed and pulmonary valve dysplasia weredetermined by doppler echocardiography. Patentforamen ovale might be relatively seen in calves butIt has not been reported in water buffalo calves yet.The present case report was performed todemonstrate the various heart anomalies in waterbuffalo calves and to help to veterinarians for theclinically evaluation of ASD.
