Serbest atış, serbest atış çizgisinin arkasından ve yarı dairenin içinde olacak şekilde oyuncuya savunma olmadan 1 puanlık sayı yapma fırsatı veren atış şeklidir (FIBA Resmi Oyun Kuralları). Bu çalışmada, basketbolda serbest atışın kinematik analizi üzerine yapılmış çalışmalar incelenmiş ve serbest atış için önemli olan gereklilikler belirtilmeye çalışılmıştır. Günümüz basketbolunda oyunun hızlanması için değişen kurallar, sporcuların fiziksel kapasitelerinin artması ile birlikte maç kazanmak zorlaşmış ve serbest atışlar çok önemli duruma gelmiştir. 

Abstract  A free throw is an opportunity given to a player to score one (1) point, uncontested,  from a position behind the free-throw line and inside the semi-circle (FIBA Official Basketball Rules, 2010). In this research, the previous studies about kinematic analysis of the free throw in basketball were analyzed and necessities of free throw were determinated. With the changed of the rules to fasten the game and improvement of physical capacity of the players in todays basketball, winning get hard and free throws became important.            Keywords: Free throw, kinematic analysis, shooting technique.
