Trqqas asati: Uzun Ön Tarihi olan Bir Likçe Formül

Bir Mezopotamya formülü Hitit kralları tarafından da benimsenmiş ve kısa bir süre mühürlerde ve bir kaya kabartmasında kullanılmıştır. Bu formül İmparatorluk Luvicesine çevrilerek hiyeroglif yazıyla kaleme alınmış kraliyet anıtlarında kullanılmış ve Hitit Krallığı’nın sona ermesinden çok sonra da Luvice yazıtlarda çeşitli kullanımlarla yeniden ortaya çıkmıştır. Geniş bir coğrafyaya yayılan çoğunlukla Yunanca yazıtlardan anlaşıldığı üzere, bu formül ayrıca Kilikya’dan daha batıya yayılan şahıs isimlerini oluşturmak için de kullanılmıştır. Formülün kendisi MÖ 5. yüzyılın sonunda Ksanthos agorasındaki Yazıtlı Dikme’de (TL 44b, 37) de karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Burada formülle artık tanrıyla olan kişisel ilişkiden ziyade krallığa atfedilen değer dile getirilmektedir.

Trqqas asati: A Lycian Formula with a Long Prehistory

A Mesopotamian formula was taken over by the Hittite kings and, for a short time, also represented on seals and a rock relief. It was also translated into the imperial Luwian of the hieroglyphic royal inscriptions and reappeared, long after the end of the Hittite empire, in Late Luwian inscriptions in varying forms. It is also reflected in personal names, showing diffusion from Cilicia to the west, as documented later on by scattered attestations in mainly Greek inscriptions. The formula itself was used in the long Lycian inscription of the agora-pillar in Xanthos ((TL 44b, 37; late 5th c. BC), no longer betokening a personal relation with the god, how-ever, but royal rule as esteemed by the god.
