Adapazarı Müzesi’ne Yeni Gelen Yazıtlı Eserler

1993 yılında kurulan Adapazarı Müzesi’nin yazıtlı taş eserleri daha önce bir katalog çalışması kapsamında yayımlanmıştı. Burada ise 2005 yılından sonra müzeye gelen yazıtlar ve de Kaynarca Hükümet Konağı önünde korunan Adapazarı Müzesi envanterlerine kayıtlı on adet yazıt tanıtılm-aktadır. Bu yazıtlardan bazıları Kaynarca ve çevresinin Roma Dönemi’nde Nikomedeia kentinin himayesinde bulunduğuna dair ipuçları sunmaktadır. İlk iki yazıtta kentin Anatanrıçası Demeter ile kızı Persophone için sunulan adaklar söz konusudur. Üçüncü yazıt Timokrates Neos’un Helios’la özdeşleştirilmiş önemli bir yerel tanrı olan Preietos’un heykeliyle birlikte Hiera phyle’sine ve tanrılara adağını içermektedir. Dördüncü sırada tanıtılan mezar yazıtı Nikomedeia teritoryumuna ait yeni bir köy yerleşimini (κώμη Πουροπαινων) belgelemektedir. Altıncı yazıt Nikomedeia Danışma Meclisi üyesi olup Karadeniz kıyısındaki Kalpe emporium’unun imarına maddi katkıda bulunan Pollion’un lahti üzerinde durmaktadır. Akyazı civarında bulunan onbirinci yazıt Asklepi-odote’nin sadece bir ay evli kaldıktan sonra onbeş yaşında hayata gözlerini yumduğunu dile getir-mektedir. Oniki ve onüçüncü yazıtlar Grylos («domuz yavrusu») ve Philomene çiftiyle Theomnes-tos’un yine aynı mıntıkada mezarları olduğunu belgelemektedir. Sırasıyla Athenais ve Polyeidos’un mezar taşları üzerinde duran onsekizinci ve ondokuzuncu yazıtlar vezinli olarak kaleme alınmış mezar epigramlarıdır. Son sıradaysa (no. 23) presbyteros Paulinos’un daha önce yayımlı yazıtı için düzeltme öneleri getirilmektedir.

The article presents a compilation of 23 epigraphical texts (most of them hitherto unpublished) from the Museum of Adapazarı and its branch at Kaynarca. Some of these inscriptions include clear indications that the area around Kaynarca belonged to the territory of the Bithynian metro-polis of Nikomedeia. The first two texts are dedications to the city goddess Demeter and Perse-phone, respectively. The monument no. 3 was dedicated to the phyle Hiera and consisted of a sta-tue of the important local god Preietos, who was equated to Helios. The funerary inscription no. 4 mentions a new settlement (kome of the Pouropainoi) in the territory of Nikomedeia. Inscription no. 6 is carved on the sarcophagus of Pollion, who served as a city councillor in Nikomedeia and took part in a construction project at the emporium of Kalpe on the Black Sea. Inscription no. 11 from the vicinity of Akyazı belongs to the sarcophagus of Asklepiodote, who shortly after her wed-ding died at the age of only 15. The monuments nos. 12 and 13 suggest that in the same area Grylos («piglet») and his wife Philomene as well as Theomnestos each had a gravehouse. The fu-nerary texts no. 18 and 19 for Athenais and Polyidos are in verse form. Finally, a correction is sug-gested for the already published funerary inscription of the priest Paulinos (no. 23).
