SECURITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION 186 AND UNITED NATIONS FORCE IN CYPRUS UNFICYP

Ahmet C. Gazioğlu is the Editing Director and Manager of the Cyprus Research & Publishing Centre in Lefkoşa, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus TRNC . He is the author of various books on Cyprus in Turkish and English. Resolution 186, adopted by the United Nations Security Council on 4 March 1964, has been ever since a cornerstone of the Cyprus problem and a turning point, the dimensions of which created an obstacle to a final and just settlement.
