Gazneliler, Fars edebiyatı, Ömer Osman Muhtârî, Gaznavids, a muslim (islamic)-Turkish state, ruled through the years of 963-1186 in Khorasan, Afghanistan and Northern India. In the Ghaznavid palace, poets were appreciated and they were promoted to sing (read) poems. The sultans (rulers, kings) made their names permanent, gaining a reputation through poets’ poems as well as poets gained a bestowment (endowment), being connected to (member of) palace of the sultans, and they made their names permanent, too. Period of the ghaznavids, during which khorasani style came into prominence and praise and panegyric poems came into fashion, is mentioned to be (as) one of the most distinguished (eligible/outstanding) periods in terms of history of Persian language and literature. In this study, we addressed life and literary personality of the poet Umar Uthman Mukhtari, one of important poets of Persian literature, who was connected to (became member of) the Ghaznavid palace and lived in hijri fourth and fifth centuries., The Ghaznavids, Persian literature, Umar Uthman Mukhtari
