Bu çalışma, Büyük Bulgaristan Devleti (635-665)’nin dağılmasından sonra Esperüh Han’ın 681’de kurduğu Tuna Bulgar Devleti’nin 1018 yılında çöküşüne kadar devam eden tarihi süreci ele alarak bugünkü Bulgaristan’ın tarihi temellerini ortaya koymakta ve Bulgar Türklerinin Balkanların ve Avrupa’nın siyasal ve kültürel şekillenmesindeki rollerine ışık tutan önemli ipuçları vermektedir.

This study presents his historical roots of contemporary Bulgarias particularly the era starting with the collapse of Magna Bulgarian State (635-665) and ending with the collapse of Tuna Bulgaria State, which was established by Esperüh Han at 681. It also gives significant hints which shed lights on the rôle of Bulgarian turks on the historical and cultural development of Balkans.
