In the Qur'an, prophetic traditions, Arabic poetry and prose end son on, which all constitute the most fundamental sources of the Arabic language and literature there are some words that have come in the form of "majhul" (passive ) but given a meaning as "ma'lum" (active) and vice versa. In addition, in those sources mentioned above, there are some texts that heave come in the form of "active participle" ( ism fail) despite being in the "passive participle" (ism mef ûl) form, and also some other texts that have come in the form of " passive participle" despite being in the " active participle" form. The words examined in this study were arranged alphabetically in accordance with their roots and initials. While examining each word we have tried to find out its basic meanings, and establish a connection between the basic meanings and the structure used currently. Moreover, we have also discovered that some words were used both in their active and passive forms.
